My brother has been put through the ringer with his divorce.  His wife has done everything she can to him and his credit, among other things, has suffered.  She is taking the car in the divorce, but he does not care because he said it is about to break down anyway.  With his credit score he is looking at Bad Credit Car Loans.  He is counting on finding one that still offers a decent rate but knows that he may have to put down a larger down payment to get that type of loan.  He said right now all he is worried about is the monthly payment.
