Rome flights – Fiumicino
The peak season for flying to Rome for a holiday runs from Easter to October. August is best avoided, though, because of the heat and the closure of many facilities while the Romans go on holiday during this month. Cheaper flights can be found by avoiding the peak season and by booking in advance. Most international Rome flights arrive at Leonardo da Vinci Airport (FCO) which is also known as Fiumicino. Some budget and charter flights arrive at Rome’s Ciampino (CIA) Airport. The train ride to the centre of Rome from Fiumocino takes 30 minutes. From Ciampino the journey by bus and train is longer.
