Beautiful Biospheres
Did you ever read about that huge experiment they did in Arizona where they sealed eight people into a greenhouse for two years to see whether they could build a working ecosystem that would support them? It was called the Biosphere 2 project (Earth itself being Biosphere 1) and you can still go and see the big greenhouse, although they’re not running the experiment any more.It would be cool to go visit. They had to grow all their food for the whole two years, and sometimes they went a bit hungry because the sun didn’t shine much and they didn’t have supplementary lighting. But they had a swamp and a rainforest and an ocean with a beach and everything. Must have been a lovely place to live.
