Know your Enemy – Credit Card Fraud has been one of the most rampant financial frauds in the world today. In the United Kingdom alone in 2006, it has been estimated that it reached as much as £428 million. Being aware of what’s going on is the best thing to have in a highly fraud prone world of credit cards. The best thing to do is to check regularly your credit statement and see if there are unauthorized purchases. If it happens that you lost your card, you must immediately call the contact center of your credit card company and report the situation. Its important to know the following types of credit card frauds like compromised accounts, mail/internet order fraud, account takeover, skimming and carding.
